Maples that produce a fantastic display of autumn colour when their leaves turn from the summer green to various shades of red. Many trees can be planted in small gardens and quite often they are used for hedging. The large trees that are seen in ornamental gardens or parks, beech, redwoods, and Scots pine. Identifying trees can be difficult but a few simple observations of the tree such as the size and shape of the leaves, the colour and texture of the bark should narrow the species down quite a lot and with a small pocket guide of trees you may even identify the tree exactly!
