Plane information: The German WW2 Messerschmitt Me 262 was the first jet fighter aircraft. This aircraft arrived too late in the Second World War to have any real impact. WW2 German fighter aircraft used by the Luftwaffe were: Focke-Wulf Fw 190, Dornier Do 335, Heinkel He 162, Heinkel He 219, Junkers Ju 88, Messerschmitt Me 163, Messerschmitt Me 262. The world's first commercial jet airplane was the De Havilland Comet. This aircraft was in service with BOAC in the early 1950's.
