Plane information: The Lancaster was an important World War 2 bomber that was used by the British RAF. The aircraft had a crew of seven made up of the bomb aimer, navigator, pilot, flight engineer, wireless operator, mid gunner and rear gunner. The bomb bay was 33 feet long and carried bombs up to 12,000 lbs. A film was made of the successful raid on the German dams that was carried out by 617 squadron, the film was called The Dambusters and was made in 1955.
