Military information: The Howitzer is a type of field artillery, that was developed in the 17th century to fire high trajectory explosive shells. During World War l new military equipment was developed, the development of tanks and aircraft were needed to break the deadlock of trench warfare. The Soviet Union and Nazi Germany excelled in producing heroic images, placing their soldiers in a semi-mythical context.
